The main categories of applications are event simulation, data reconstruction, and data analysis. Applications are data and CPU intensive, consisting of a few GBytes of input/output per batch process. The typical volume of batch jobs submitted through the grid is a few thousand per day. The average local storage space needed for I/O management is a few GB per worker node. The typical required scratch space at the worker node is 5 GB per job.
The D0 experiment is a high energy physics experiment collecting data at the FNAL Tevatron. The VO associated with the D0 collaboration wishes to use OSG resources to reconstruct the raw data from the detector into physics objects and to produce large samples of Monte Carlo generated data of physical processes to create simulated events samples as they would appear in the D0 Detector. Such samples are essential to calculate the efficiency for detection of the various processes in the sample of collider data.

The most CPU intensive application is CS-ROSETTA, that allows structure determination of proteins based on chemical shift
information alone. It thus bypasses the need for NOE based distance restraints, which usually require
considerable time to obtain. Further advantages of using chemical shifts are that these are among the
most reliable parameters that can be obtained from NMR spectroscopy and that they can potentially be
obtained for larger macromolecules for which NOEs become impractical. On the other hand, direct
chemical shift based structure determination is computationally much more expensive than structure
calculations using distance restraints. However, the most time consuming part of a CS-ROSETTA run
consists of a large number of independent calculations that can be easily distributed over the GRID.
ENMR VO serves the bio-NMR and SAXS user communities. The VO is already enabled in the European EGI grid

One of the most powerful approaches for interpretation of genomes and understanding mechanisms of adaptation of organisms to environments is comparative and evolutionary analysis of wide spectrum of phylogenetically diverse organisms. It allows for systematic exploration of adaptive mechanisms that led to diversification of biological systems, on all levels of their organization: genomic, metabolic, and phenotypic. However such approach requires the development of high-throughput computational environments that integrate (i) large amounts of genomic and experimental data (ii) powerful tools and algorithms for knowledge discovery and data mining (iii) tools for collaborative analysis of biological data by the experts residing in remote locations and (iv) scalable computational backend. GADU is a high-performance scalable computational system that allows efficient automation of the major steps of genome analysis, including data acquisition from a variety of genomic databases and its analysis by several bioinformatics tools and algorithms. GADU utilizes Grid technology for the needs of high-throughput genetic sequence analysis. Using GADU, publicly available bioinformatics tools like BLAST, BLOCKS, Pfam, TMHMM etc. are executed parallely on the Grid and results are then stored in an integrated relational database. Apart from using the results for further refined analysis, they are also used to display through web applications for the use of the bioinformatics community.
This project proposes to develop and support the infrastructure needed to permit wide-scale use of the Open Science Grid (OSG) by the computational biology community through the integrated database maintained by the Argonne\'s Bioinformatics Group and the user facilities which continue to grow around that database.

The Fermi collaboration operates the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (FGST, formerly GLAST, Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope) on board of the Fermi satellite. The collaboration is international, composed of members of research institutions and universities of U.S.A, Italy, Germany, France, Sweden, and Japan. The satellite was launched from Cape Canaveral on June 11, 2008. On board of FGST there are two scientific experiments. The Large Area Telescope detects gamma-rays in the energy range from 20 MeV to 300 GeV, with very good position resolution (<10 arcmins), and an energy resolution in the range of 10%. Complementary, the GLAST Burst Monitor is sensitive in the range from 8 keV to 25 MeV. Together, they cover 25 octaves of the electromagnetic spectrum, with large angular acceptances. High energy gamma-rays are tracers of the most extreme environments in the universe. Objects on the list to study are: gamma-ray bursts, active galactic nuclei, solar flares, and pulsars, pulsar wind nebulae, and supernova remnants. Moreover, FGST could resolve the nature of dark matter, and is sensitive to effects proposed by theories extending the standard model of particle physics, like quantum-gravity.

The Grid Laboratory of Wisconsin (GLOW) is the legacy name for the University of Wisconsin-Madison's coordinated use of OSG. The Center for High Througput Computing continues to coordinate use of dHTC and OSG by the campus community, as the core provider of large-scale research computing resources. Numerous HTCondor pools on campus participate in a campus grid, and CHTC directly serves more than 300 research groups from more than 60 departments on campus.

While HCC has a strong affiliation with the US CMS project as a Tier-2 site, we have recently had a growing number of local users inquire about accessing the considerable resources of the Open Science Grid. We have utilized both OSG-MM and glideinWMS to develop workflows for local users running a variety of bioinformatics utilities, including autodock and rosetta. HCC supports interfaces to local machines named Firefly and Prairiefire that provide a combined 6000 processors for opportunistic use to the OSG with local HCC staff. The HCC VO will allow us to engage a growing Nebraska user community, and to monitor and assist these NU researchers as they migrate their code to OSG.
HCC supports NU faculty and staff from a variety of fields and 4 campuses located at Lincoln, Omaha and Kearney.

MicroBooNe is a Fermilab experiment intended to study neutrino
cross-sections and the MiniBooNe low energy excess. It will also provided a
proof of principal for the construction and operation of a 100 ton scale
liquid argon time projection chamber as a stepping stone towards a kiloton
scale liquid argon detector for the LBNE experiment. MicroBooNe will use
the FermiGrid to produce Monte Carlo simulation as well as reconstruction of
both data and simulated events.

VLab plans to run Quantum Espresso jobs of thermodynamics, thermoelastic proprieties and elastic constant in Bag of Task.
Primarily we will use PWscf and Phonon software from Quantum Espresso package.
VLab makes contribution for communities of Geophysics (Mineral Physics), Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Material Science, and Quantum Espresso user community.
Results obtained VLab on thermodynamics and thermoelastic properties of major mineral phases are directly applicable to the analysis of seismic tomography images and are necessary for geodynamics simulations, therefore, will have significant interdisciplinary impact.

XENON MC Simulation based on GEANT4 and ROOT will run
The Xenon VO xenon.biggrid.nl is the incubator grid community for work on the
international Xenon 1T and related experiments in the search for dark matter. Members of the
VO will work to build, understand and analyse the detector and results related to the Xenon
experiment and to "Monte-Carlo" studies that will be used to design, build and
understand the detector, as well as work with the supporting computing infrastructure to make this happen.
